The Natural History Museum of Santa Maria is the only Natural History Museum between Morro Bay and Santa Barbara. The Museum provides all field trips and open hours free to the public through your donations and memberships. Please join or renew your membership here.

2. Volunteer With Us
The Natural History Museum is operated 100% by volunteers. The volunteers do every conceivable job required by a public museum, from greeting guests each week during open hours, to serving on the board of directors, to dusting the collection, working in the native garden, writing grants and leading school tours.
Annual volunteer field trips and monthly meetings serve to educate the volunteers on the collection as well as public service interactive skills. Life scans are required for all volunteers. Do any of the jobs appeal to you?
